This talk will examine the history and technology of extortion-motivated malware, what we’re seeing today, and expect to see tomorrow. Attackers are increasingly shifting to the lucrative “business” of Ransomware. We will examine recent observations in the ransomware space – Ransomware-as-a-Service, targeted attacks, and discuss considerations about mitigating this threat. We’ll also discuss some of the other predominant threats and trends we are currently observing.
